Adidas is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Germany and Europe and the second biggest sportswear manufacturer in the world after Nike. For the forthcoming 2018 World Cup Russia, the two giants Adidas and Nike are respectively responsible for ten and eight national teams’ football match jerseys.
Real Federación Española de Fútbol(RFEF) and Adidas announced that they would extend the agreement until 2026. Adidas will continue to provide sportswear for Spain national men’s team, women’s team, youth national football teams and national futsal team.
The close cooperation, between the RFEF and Adidas, has been successful since 1980s. For example, Spain national team won successive titles in 2008, 2010, and 2012 UEFA European Championships, so Adidas got substantial revenue accordingly.
In November 2017, Adidas unveiled several 2018 World Cup kits that payed homage to classic football shirts, including Spain 2018 Home Football Kit.
The brand new Spain 2018 Home Football Shirt was released jointly by Adidas and the RFEF. The shirt was inspired by the classic football shirt of 1990s and combined innovative technologies and new design. National team players will wear the well-designed jersey to fight for the championship of 2018 World Cup. This advanced football product also helps players be concentrated on games and run freely and quickly.
Alvaro Morata, born on 23 October 1992, is a Spanish professional footballer playing as a striker for English club Chelsea and the Spain national team. A versatile and well-rounded forward, Morata is capable of playing out wide on the wing. During his first season at Juventus, he stood out for his pace and energy on the pitch, while his technique, opportunism and positional sense made him score several crucial goals.
“We have created countless football products, innovative technologies and classic designs for decades. The brand new football products are designed to show respect to those. Passionate fans, like players, long to see the new shirt to be loyal to the classic design and to have high performance at the same time. Therefore, we satisfy the desire of players and fans to retain the classic elements and incorporate advanced technology in order to meet the needs that shirts can be worn at football fields or daily life.” says Juergen Rank, the senior director of design.
Inspired by one of Spain’s most famous shirts in history—the 1994 World Cup home football jersey, Adidas reinterpreted the classic in modern technologies to show the courage and passion of La Furia Roja(The Red Fury), the nickname of Spain national team.
New jersey features a diamond-shaped printed pattern on the right representing the speed, strength and playing style of Spanish football. These elements are closely related with Spain national team. The national team badge is embroidered on the left of the chest while Adidas brand logo is put in the middle. The gold five-pointed star represents one title of World Cup. Adidas three stripes are placed on the shoulders, back to the classic design.
Adidas’ Climachill cooling technology is used in match jerseys for the first time to keep players cool and comfortable in motion.
Blue shorts and black socks complete the 2018 home kit. Besides, the socks are printed with “RFEF” to show respect for the nation.
